09:00 - 12:00 Workshop I: CLINICAL MANAGEMENT OF HARD TO TREAT FUNGAL INFECTIONS
This is going to be an interactive session with discussion of selected clinical cases to illustrate challenges in the clinical management of fungal infections highlighting variables relevant for the process of clinical decision making in different scenarios.
09:00 - 12:00 Workshop II: APLICATIONS OF MALDI TOF IN MEDICAL MYCOLOGY
This section will discuss different protocols for protein extraction, quality control of the full process, how to access different databank and how to develop new database to incorporate protein profiles of new fungal pathogens
13:00 - 16:00 Workshop III: HOW TO INVESTIGATE FUNGAL OUTBREAKS
During this session the Center for Disease Control (CDC) will present experiences they faced in real life to illustrate how to detect, investigate and control fungal outbreaks documented in different scenarios
13:00 - 16:00 Workshop IV: LABORATORIAL DIAGNOSIS OF THE ENDEMIC SYSTEMIC MYCOSIS AND CRYPTOCOCCOSIS
This session will present a critical review on conventional methods, serologies and non-culture-based tests useful for the diagnosis and monitorization of clinical response of patients with endemic systemic mycosis and cryptococcosis
